Java 9-11 Update

After years of planning, the module system Jigsaw finally arrived in Java 9. The main focus was on modularizing the Java class library. However, modularization is also an important aspect in the software architecture and has so far mostly been mapped solely through the build system and thus at compile time. Alternatives like OSGi have resulted in a lot of technical effort and have been poorly supported by many tools and frameworks.
Thanks to Jigsaw, Java applications with built-in language resources can now be clearly structured and runtime dependencies can also be defined. Many developers and architects have been waiting a long time for this. However, such fundamental extensions also pose problems. Although the tool manufacturers will not get any support from Jigsaw, there will of course be some initial difficulties, despite the tool support.
Through this seminar, we help you to divide your applications correctly and to clearly differentiate the components. This will minimize potential problems with migrations or new implementations. In addition, we will look at supporting the development environments and build management with Maven and Gradle.
In addition to Jigsaw, other new features will also be addressed. These include, for example, the JShell, the extensions of the process API, factory methods for collections and the creation of UTF-8 resource bundles. The seminar offers a simple introduction to working with Java 9 and provides valuable information and practical tips.
