Courage – seven letters, two syllables. Simple, direct. Everyone knows what courage means. Or do they? For this allegedly straightforward word is so much more than it seems at first.
The dictionary defines courage as "the state of mind in which actions are taken energetically and fearlessly in a critical situation". Or as "a state of mind in which new tasks are taken up with confidence".
Courage has become rare nowadays. People like to assimilate, imitate the tried and tested, keep doing what more or less works because they are too afraid to try something new. To enter unknown territory, to take a risk. But as the saying goes: Who dares wins.
You, dear Belimed, are the best example for this. You have this courage. And you won: A future-oriented team, a new line of business, even closer relationships with your customers. And a fruitful cooperation with committed partners.
More than 50 years ago, you started as a supplier of equipment for sterilisation, disinfection and cleaning of medical and surgical instruments. In a fiercely competitive market, you have held your ground against your competitors – precisely because of this one decisive characteristic.
You realised that the future is digital and therefore courageously took the difficult step from hardware producer to service provider: With the "Smart Connectivity" programme, you have been connecting medical cleaning and disinfection devices since spring 2020, recording their productivity data and forwarding it to third-party systems – and thus offering exactly what an intelligent hospital needs.
You have also boldly set a goal and have not lost sight of it for a single day ever since: To be the leader in the digital reprocessing unit for medical devices (AEMP) by 2025.
We firmly believe that Belimed can achieve this and look forward to continuing to support you as a strategic partner!
