Endress+Hauser is active in the field of measurement and automation technology. Within the group, Endress+Hauser InfoServe acts as an IT service provider. Based on several trainings, a successful cooperation developed between Endress+Hauser and Trivadis. It has already brought forth a device configurator with the permanent involvement of Trivadis as well as a new online shop, also with follow-up orders. The latest project in cooperation with Trivadis is a central engineering platform.
Trivadis had already made a name for itself at Endress+Hauser through previous projects their successful implementation. Over a cup of coffee, a consultant from Trivadis was approached about the possibility of architectural consulting. Specifically, the request was to re-implement an engineering platform that is used to prepare offers for customers. The customer offers involve measuring devices for process technology, whereby all Endress+Hauser engineering tools had to be able to interact on the new platform. The central engineering platform was also supposed to serve as an interface between the company’s commercial applications and the applications for the individual design of the various measuring devices. Other requirements with respect to the platform included user-friendliness and ease of use, fast offer preparation and verification, and simpler offer revision.
After consultation, the team from Trivadis successfully implemented a proof of concept and then built a prototype of the central engineering platform. Endress+Hauser was impressed with the results and entrusted Trivadis with the realisation of the platform. After the implementation of the prototype, interfaces were adjusted and expanded. In this step, SAP and other Endress+Hauser applications were connected for the selection, dimensioning and configuration of measuring devices as well as Salesforce. In addition, Trivadis also established communication with these applications using an overarching specified XML format.
The application supports our employees and customers in all aspects of ordering, engineering and operating processes in the procurement of measuring devices in process technology. The improvements afforded by the new platform allow the Endress+Hauser group to enhance the customer experience in the long term and make significant annual savings.

The successful integration of the various applications has significantly improved the ordering, engineering and operating processes for the procurement of measuring devices in process technology.
