Trivadis will host the 13th Performance Days conference with top guest speakers in Zurich. As in the previous years the focus will be on Oracle Database performance and query optimization. Since performance is not simply a product one can buy but rather the results of an accurate planning and a correct implementation, the talks will present valuable techniques not only for troubleshooting performance problems, but also to avoid them in first place.

The event is conducted in English.

More info

The working day will be from 9am to 5pm; and on the evening of first day there will be an opportunity to share your experiences and opinions with the speakers and other participants in a less formal atmosphere as we meet over drinks from 5pm to 7pm.

Martin Klier

Senior DB Consultant, Performing Databases GmbH

Being in IT business as a specialist for Linux, Martin Klier has been involved in the administration of Oracle Databases for about fifteen years now. The integration of large Oracle-based high-availability solutions (MAA) with RAC and Data Guard were the first challenges. In the last years, he largely moved into performance analysis and tuning of complex systems with dynamically changing load profiles. Skeptical needs assessments, thorough architecture planning, decent system sizing, critical benchmarking and experienced load-focused system analysis are Martin’s formula to success in avoiding production downtime.

For years now, Martin can be found speaking on topics regarding “Oracle Core, Performance and High Availability” on various national and international conferences, like COLLABROATE (IOUG), Oracle Open World or DOAG Konferenz. Martin frequently blogs about recent issues and their solutions at http://www.usn-it.de and is known on Twitter as @MartinKlierDBA. Martin works a lot for the community, especially for the German Oracle Users Group “DOAG” and Linux User Group Mitterteich, and is an Oracle ACE Director (Database).

Martin Berger

Senior Consultant, Trivadis

Martin is in direct and constant contact with Oracle databases since 2000 - always with a great desire to understand complex technical aspects.

Even though his history was most infrastructure centric, when it comes to applications his focus is on the user and its specific experience. This forces him to a holistic approach without blingers - whatever the specific goal might be.

His second area of interest is capacity measurement, prediction and planning - and the hunt for bottlenecks.

The main tools in these processes are a stopwatch, pen and notebook - even often only figuratively.

Martin documents his findings on his blog, is an Oracle ACE since 2017 and presents his experience on various conferences.
