Research in the Trivadis Technology Center

Every year Trivadis invests around CHF 3 million (EUR 1.8 million) in consulting hours, hardware and software, in order to evaluate the concepts and technical features of new technologies and software on a non-proprietary basis. The TTC puts a particular emphasis on long-term usability and the benefits for the user.

More than 130 of the 425 Trivadis consultants are involved in around 150 research projects in the Trivadis Technology Center alongside their customer projects. Research projects of this kind generally involve between two and eight consultants. The members of these virtual teams can be based in different Trivadis offices. The TTC therefore plays an important role in promoting integration and the exchange of knowledge amongst the consultants across the different offices and national borders.

The TTC's annual cycle

Following a detailed strategic planning phase, the projects are initiated in the fall. Input from all the stakeholders (solution areas, delivery and marketing) is incorporated into the results of the technical key player days. The transfer of knowledge takes place on a large scale twice a year at internal conferences, known as TechEvents, and once a year at local events in the various offices. The TTC is also responsible for a variety of Late Lounges (evening events for consultants) and practical camps (hands-on training sessions with experts) and is involved in external marketing events and seminars.

Trivadis practical feedback sessions

At the TTC the knowledge transfer process does not take place in one direction only.  Regular practical feedback sessions are also held. The purpose of these is to ensure that customer projects are on the right track in technical terms and to obtain feedback from the project team members about the TTC's work.

Added value for the customer

Customers can benefit in several ways from the research skills at Trivadis. The fact that all the analyses and tests are non-proprietary guarantees future users that the consultancy they receive on their choice of software and hardware will be objective. In addition, the tests are not carried out by scientists in ivory towers, but by our consultants, who make use of their practical experience and understand the important features of new technologies and software releases. They are able to evaluate the maturity of a software product and therefore to warn customers against installing it prematurely.

Trivadis' expertise in this area also brings time and cost savings for customers. Because Trivadis consultants spend many hours on thorough, in-house testing of new technologies and software releases, they can therefore run tests for customers much more quickly and efficiently. As a result, customers' projects can also go live more rapidly. In addition, the TTC has set up infrastructures which can be used by customers for proof of concepts and for training purposes. It often makes sense to collaborate within the field of research. This gives Trivadis customers the opportunity to make use of synergies and experience during joint projects with the Trivadis Technology Center, resulting in a clear win-win situation!
